Hubbard County District 21 Schoolhouse
The District 21 Arago School once located in Hubbard County now resides on the Lake Itasca Region Pioneer Farmers Grounds. The building was moved to the grounds in 2002 to begin restoration on the school that had been closed since 1947/1948. When it became closed the building was then used as a place for grain storage.
Leonard & Earl Hemmerich had family members who attended the school inculding their father Roy Hemmerich. They are part of the lead that was able to help get the building to the Lake Itasca Pioneer Farmers grounds. When the building arrived at the grounds, work began on it including new floor joists, sills, new floor, prtial new roof, the building got a new foundation, new window, ceiling and refinishing
In 2003 when restoration of the school was completed there was a reunion and dedication during the annual show where former teachers and students gathered.
